CELEBRATE NEW POETS
Poetry Wales and Modron magazines invite you to a cosy afternoon of tea, coffee, cake and poetry in collaboration with our friends at Noisy Newt Books, Llandeilo. As the year draws to a close we're celebrating some of our favourite new poets and inviting you to get to know them a bit better. Editor Zoë Brigley will introduce readings by Forward Prize winner Abeer Ameer and Poetry Wales 'one to watch' poet Rhiannon Fielder-Hobbs, as well as yet-to-be-announced friends from both magazines reading in English and Cymraeg.

We are excited to announce, 
Mari Ellis Dunning will be joining us for an
event to talk about her much anticipated novel, Witsh.
1597. Whispers of witchcraft and hangings begin to cross the border from England, catching like wildfire in the small village of Llynidwen. After several miscarriages, a bereft Doli seeks the help of a local soothsayer putting herself and the women around her in danger.
A story of women’s courage and defiance in the face of persecution and paranoia.
About the Author

Mari Ellis Dunning’s debut poetry collection Salacia was shortlisted for Wales Book of the year 2019. Her second collection, Pearl and Bone, was chosen as Wales Arts Review’s Number 1 Poetry Choice of 2022. Mari teaches at Aberystwyth University, where she delivers courses on feminist writing.
